Your Cold Therapy Session: What to Expect
The idea of willingly exposing yourself to such extreme temperatures can be daunting, especially when you are already feeling anxious. It is helpful to know exactly what the process involves. A session at Kryo Memmingen is a quick, professional, and supervised experience.
First, you will have a consultation to ensure you have no contraindications. You will then change into appropriate attire: dry swimwear or underwear, along with protective gloves, socks, shoes, and a headband and face mask to protect sensitive areas.
You will then enter the pre-chamber, typically set to a less extreme temperature, for about 30 seconds to acclimatise. From there, you step into the main chamber, which is at -110 °C. The cold is immediate and intense, but because the air is completely dry, it is not the biting, damp cold you might experience on a winter's day in the Allgäu.
