Your First Cold Therapy Session: What to Expect

First, you will have a consultation and complete a health questionnaire to ensure there are no contraindications. You will then change into appropriate attire: typically swimwear or shorts and a top. We provide you with socks, clogs, gloves, a headband to cover your ears, and a face mask to warm the air you breathe.

You will enter the pre-chamber first, which is set to a cooler, but less extreme, temperature. After a few seconds, you will be guided into the main chamber. The cold is intense but, because the air is completely dry, it does not feel wet or piercing like a cold winter day in the Allgäu. Instead, it is a crisp, enveloping sensation on your skin.

You will stay in the main chamber for a maximum of three minutes. A trained member of our team will be with you the entire time, speaking to you from outside the chamber. You can move around gently or stand still. As soon as the time is up, you will step out. Most people describe an immediate sensation of warmth and tingling as blood rushes back to the skin's surface, often accompanied by a feeling of energy and mental clarity.
