The same applies to individuals with severe heart failure, significant heart rhythm disturbances (arrhythmias), or those who have had recent heart surgery or a pacemaker fitted.
  • Severe Circulatory Disorders: Conditions where blood flow is already compromised are made worse by intense vasoconstriction.   • Nerve Disorders: Conditions involving nerve damage, such as polyneuropathies, can reduce your ability to sense the cold. This increases the risk of a localised cold injury as you might not feel if a particular area is becoming too cold.
  • Claustrophobia or Severe Anxiety: While the doors to our chambers are never locked, the enclosed space can be challenging for individuals with significant claustrophobia or anxiety disorders. It is important to discuss this with our staff beforehand.
  • Skin Conditions: Open wounds, infections, or severe skin conditions like widespread eczema or psoriasis must be fully healed or quiescent before a session. The dry, cold air can be irritating, and any breach in the skin barrier is a risk.

Before entering the chamber, you will change into appropriate attire: dry swimwear or shorts, socks, and gloves, which we provide. The session itself lasts for a short, controlled period, typically between two and three and a half minutes. You will enter our -110 °C chamber, where vortex cooling technology ensures an even temperature distribution. You are never locked in, and a trained staff member will be with you for the entire duration, observing you through a window and communicating with you. At any point, for any reason, you can simply push the door and step out.

After the session, you will step out of the chamber and into a room at normal temperature. Most people experience an immediate sensation of warmth and tingling as blood flows back to the skin, and often a feeling of profound energy and alertness. We encourage a few minutes of light movement, like walking or using a stationary bike, to help promote this circulation.
